The Jewel Of The Sands is set in a peaceful, natural reserve, the nearest neighbours are over 500 yards away, from the cottage, the views are stunning, looking over the sand plans, with the Famara cliffs and beach in the distance and on to the islands of La Graciosa, Montaña Clara and Alegranza. Its ideal location means you can just walk from the cottage for miles without crossing a made up road, either choosing to walk the sandy tracks or simple adventure over the virgin landscape.

The bird life in this protected, unspoilt and hidden area is amazing, its possible to spot birds like the Hoopies, Kestrels, Grey Shrike, Stone Curlew, Cattle Egrets, Herons and even the Houbora Bustard amongst many others.

The place is ideal also for cycling, running, writing, art, meditation, yoga and is also a short drive to the Famara beach area, so brilliant for surfing, body boarding and kite surfing, or if you just want to escape and do nothing, it’s the ideal home which will enable you do just that, embracing you to feel relaxed and at home.

The cottage holds centuries of history, being one of the original houses of Tao, whilst restoring the property we have found ceramics dating back hundreds of years and many other historic items, including a canon ball which dates back to 1400.

Over the years with love, care, dedication and hard work, renovating which was once a ruin, The Jewel Of The Sands is now ready to share its beauty with anyone wishing to spend some time, in such a unique and beautiful eco friendly home.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms. A double bedroom with typical old fashion bed with large opening window, a wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables.A second double bedroom with Opening window, wardrobe, dressing table and side tables, it has an adjoining room which can be used as a sitting area with cosy chairs for reading, also has a wardrobe and 2 single beds, this room also has an opening window.

The kitchen is separate with its wood burning stove, also has a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, plenty of plates and cooking utensils. The kitchen also has opening windows.

The dining area is spacious with large table and six chairs along with antique furnishings.

There is a large separate lounge with wood burner, sofas x 2, table and chairs with large opening windows.

The bathroom has a long bath, bidet, toilet and wash basin and opening windows. A second bathroom has a spacious shower, wash basin and toilet and opening windows.

The cottage is tiled throughout with handmade terracotta tiles, the ceilings are all wooden, all doors and windows are of a high quality wood and walls are of stone, pointed white enhancing the beautiful stonework.

The hot water is solar heated and all electrics are powered by the sun, making this eco friendly cottage totally self sufficient.

There is a private sitting and sunbathing area created in a sunken garden which sits in the 5000m of grounds, along with barbecue areas etc.

There is a separate cottage which is set up with a games area, table games, darts, table tennis etc.
