Fifteen year of serving fantastic food, Pepe and Pilar have a deserved reputation as running one of the best restaurants in the Costa Blanca. Only 25 minutes from the coast, Restaurante Pepe sits in the stunning Jalon Valley in the picturesque town of Alcalali. The interior of the restaurant is traditional Spanish style with checked table cloth, valued beamed ceilings, terracotta floor tiles and antique Spanish furniture. All topped off with a roaring fire in the winter months. Even prices are ´old fashioned´ and traditional, with Menu del Dia starting at a fantastic 9.90 euro, including a choice of 10 starters, bread and a half bottle of wine or beer. The al la Carte is diverse and lenghty and as well as Castellan specialities the international menu includes suckling pig, roast pork with crackling, Chateaubriand and Lobster thermidor to name but a few. It really is a restaurant for all tastes and pockets. Sunday three course menus start at only 10.95 euros wiyh choice of 12 starters. You´ll find a lovely children´s play area and beautiful new sunny covered terrace for eating al fresco. For wine lovers this really is the place. With Pepe´s house selection Rioja at only 6.95 euros and Brut Cava at an incredible 8.75 euros you don´t have to spend the earth to sample quality Spanish wines, and with 22 to choose from on the list, including Italian and Purtuguese, you are spoiled for choice. As a family friendly restaurant there´s even a choise of children´s menu for 6 euros, including soft drink, bread, allioli and dessert.
