La Fiesta Escénica

Con sólo ocho años, Abel Martín conoce en Cipolleti, su ciudad natal, en plena Patagonia Argentina, al “Gran Circo Tihany”… y desde ese mismo momento sabe que su vida y sus sueños tendrán siempre que ver con el espectáculo.

Muy joven, viaja a Ciudad de La Plata para comenzar su formación como actor. Estudia teatro de imágenes, danza, expresión corporal, mimo, canto, musicoterapia y la carrera de Psicología Corporal.

En 1995, tras varios años desarrollando su labor como director artístico de musicales, crea la compañía “La Fiesta Escénica”, decidido a recuperar su ilusión infantil por el circo. De la pequeña nave en la estacion de trenes, “Teatro El Andén”, la compañía -que no deja de crecer, nutriéndose del talento de cada uno de sus integrantes- llega hasta la Univesidad de Flores, donde formará a artistas en colaboración con el “Circo Criollo de Buenos Aires”.

En el año 2001, unas vacaciones llevan a la troupe a Galicia (España) por primera vez… y esa tierra, su gente y la extraordinaria acogida a su trabajo les “obligan” a cruzar el charco definitivamente y hacer de Baiona (Pontevedra) su casa. El equipo se completa poco a poco con algunos de los mejores artistas locales e internacionales, y así nacen la “Escuela de Teatro y Títeres de Baiona” y la primera producción circense, “Provoke”, en colaboración con el “Circo Deros”, un espectáculo que reflejaba claramente el espíritu singular de la joven compañía.

Después vendrían el “Circo de Venecia”, el “Circ dels Nens”, el “Circo Acuático”, “Cirkid”, “Le cirque sur l’eau” (Francia), “Circo Roncalli Polar Bears” (Alemania), “Circ de Nadal”, “Circo de Cuba”, “Galtük”, “Ekus”, “Circo de Navidad”, “Castrelos Circus”, “In Sepia”... Todos con extraordinaria respuesta de público y crítica.

La innovadora experiencia de crear animales animatrónicos para las pistas de circo, con una apariencia externa y una gracia de movimientos que los hacen adquirir un gran realismo, ha tenido reconocimiento mundial tras su presentación en Alemania.


When he was only 8 years old, Abel Martín, attended a performance of the Great Circus Tihany in Cipolletti, his hometown, in the center of the Argentine Patagonia, and it was at that moment that he knew his life and his dreams would always be connected to show business.

When very young, he traveled to the city of La Plata to start his career. He studied visual theater, dancing, physical theater, singing, mime, music therapy and body psychotherapy.

In 1995, after several years working as artistic director in musicals, he founded La Fiesta Escénica, in an attempt to express his child dreams about the circus. From the little warehouse in the abandoned train station, Teatro El Andén, the company has not stopped growing, nourishing the talent of each of its members. A few years after its foundation it moved its headquarters to the Universidad de Flores, where new artists were trained in collaboration with the Circo Criollo de Buenos Aires.

The summer vacations of 2001 saw the group traveling to Galicia, Spain for the first time. That land, its people, and the amazing welcome they gave the work of La Fiesta Escenica, “forced” the group to settle down there and make Baiona (Pontevedra) their home. The best local and international artists joined the group and gave birth to the Escuela de Teatro y Títeres de Baiona (Baiona’s Theater and Puppet School) and produced, in collaboration with Circo Deros, their first circus show, Provoke, which reflected the unique spirit of the young company.

Later on there would come Circo de Venezia, Circe dels Nens, the Aquatic Circus, Cirkid, Le Cirque sur l’eau (France), Roncally Circus Polar Bears (Germany), Circ de Nadal, Circo de Cuba, Galtük, Ekus, Christmas Circus, Castrelos Circus, In Sepia... All of them receiving excellent reviews from the audiences and the critics.

The innovative experience of creating animatronic animals for the circus rings has received international recognition after their debut in Germany.
