As European beach-goers—and IRONMAN 70.3 athletes—can tell you, there's no place like Mallorca. Like its popular sister race, the newly announced IRONMAN Mallorca will be located in Alcudia, a resort hub in the northern part of the Spanish island with more than 30 km of intensely blue Mediterranean coastline.
The swim course will take place in the city's harbor, where competitors can expect a soft, sandy shore and views of steep cliffs and secluded coves. The bike course following a challenging route mixed with hills and flat stretches. For the run, athletes will return to Alcudia's picturesque beach.
With its luxury hotels, Catalonian food and medieval Old Town dating to the 13th century, the small peninsula offers uncommonly rich landscapes and vacation activities for competitors, friends and family.
