Horse Rehabilitation Project - Casa la Siesta

The Horse-Refuge was born out of our passion for horses and the necessity to assist our first rescue horse, Eddy, who we found in the fields about 5 miles away from the Hotel. He was only 4 years old and close to death. His previous owners had left him and 7 others without food and water, their only hope being someone would purchase them before anything tragic would happen to them. Spain has no equivalent of the RSPCA and therefore no legal remedy was or is available for such desperate cases.
Whilst Eddy made a slow but progressive recovery, we were soon bombarded by countless examples of neglect. We begun to develop the idea of creating a small refuge for some of the area’s needy. Guests were heavily involved in this thought process and it soon became very clear they too were incredibly passionate to assist in whatever way they could help
