Finca Lo Fabaret

Set in an organic olive grove on a large hill overlooking the sea, our casita is typical of the Costa Dorada rural region. The house has beautiful views and a relaxing pool area. We grow our own vegetables and herbs and you are welcome to meander around our 9-acre fenced farm. Located on the Via Augusta, the house offers peace and tranquillity with access to both sand and pebble beaches within 15 minutes' drive.
You can choose – peaceful and secluded or a family-friendly beach with small restaurants and attractions.
At 10 km from the house, the seaside resort of L'Ampolla is the nearest beach and commercial centre; a multitude of small shops and bustling restaurants offering local fresh cuisine. 15 minutes in another direction brings you to the historical river town of Tortosa, with its cathedral, gardens and interesting shops and eateries.
Further afield you will find World Heritage site, Tarragona, full of Roman ruins and cobbled streets and the fabulous shopping streets of Reus – both at about 45 minutes in the car.
For the more culturally adventurous, both Valencia and Barcelona are an hour and a half car/train journey along the coast.
Families can take advantage of Southern Europe's largest theme park, Port Aventura – 45 minutes' drive, which includes a huge water park.
Or you can stay nearer to the casita and go walking, canoeing, horse-riding, fishing and cycling; play tennis, padel or golf, or indulge in one of the many watersports – from pedaloes to wind/kite-surfing. Both river and sea fishing are available, with the Ebro being a world-famous catfish zone – not to mention the bird-watching conservation area.
The nearest mountain range of Els Ports (a UNESCO-protected site) offers climbing, caving, walking and stupendous views.
This area is near enough to any pastime you may want from a rural holiday – we can suggest wine trails in the Priorat, Penedes or Terra Alta regions or olive-oil tasting in Montsant – all lovingly tested by us ;). There are monasteries and river boat rides, walled cities and mountain lakes and secluded river swimming spots… or if that sounds like too much, you are welcome to sit by the pool or snooze in a hammock and read a book.

The accommodation is a recently renovated 2-bedroom rural casita set in a 9-acre organic olive grove. The house has two bedrooms and a mezzanine level for an extra guest; a bathroom with shower and a modern kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and gas cooker. The living room seats 6 and has a Wi-Fi, a TV and DVD/multi-media player, so bring your own entertainment or watch a selection of ours. A well-stocked bookcase offers a variety of reading materials and we have a ton of games, toys, books and puzzles for kids. The pool is fenced for safety and there is a shaded eating/barbeque area with a grassy area for lounging by the pool, overlooking the foothills.
You can walk among the olive, carob, almond and fig trees, not to mention other fruit trees and vegetable patches. Swing in a hammock or play boules, badminton, football or basketball, or simply read a book – sun or shade, the choice is yours.
