Errecaldia

Our traditional Basque house has sat on the hillside below the17th century Vauban Citadelle for over three hundred years overlooking the river valley and town, the name "Errecaldia" meaning 'river view'. It lies on the ancient Chemin St Jacques, the pilgrim route, and is just a few minute's walk along the Chemin from the centre of St Jean Pied de Port.

The house is ideally situated for activity holidays such as walking, cycling, rafting or for relaxing and enjoying the wonderful scenery. For those travelling from afar to walk the long distance routes, the Camino or GR10, the peaceful and beautiful location make Errecaldia an ideal stop-over for a day or two while recovering from your journey or preparing for your walk.

The house has three spacious en-suite guest rooms with modern facilities. A generous continental breakfast is provided between 07.00 and 10.00 and can be served either in the dining room or on the terrace overlooking the town and valley. It is of Basque fare, using fresh local ingredients. The guests have their own entrance with key giving access 24 hours a day. Free and fast WiFi internet access is available throughout the house. Baggage transport and taxi services can be arranged.
