In our senior partner, Eric C. Ellul, we have Gibraltar’s most experienced matrimonial lawyer. His expertise dates back to the early 1980s when he was the driving force behind the reform of our divorce laws. He is also an experienced probate and employment lawyer often sitting Chairman of the industrial Tribunal.

Our managing partner, Marc X. Ellul, is a well-respected corporate, commercial, corporate finance, funds and shipping lawyer. Marc was Chairman of the company law reform committee which conducted an in-depth review of the Gibraltar Companies Act and made extensive reform proposals. A new Companies Act incorporating the committee’s recommendations was enacted in November 2014.

Our conveyancing partner, Ben C. Chiappe, is an experienced property lawyer with an extensive practice representing private individuals, companies and banks. Ellul & Co are on the conveyancing panel of all of Gibraltar’s major banks and building societies. This enables us to represent our clients when they are taking out mortgages.

Neil A. Lopez is an employment, probate, litigation and shipping lawyer. He heads our shipping and litigation practice with over 10 years’ experience in these fields.

Janieve Buhagiar’s professional interests include criminal and civil litigation, matrimonial law, employment law and personal injury work. More recently, she has been assisting the senior partner in various matrimonial matters and non-contentious probate work.

Our clients are diverse, ranging from private individuals to major international companies, banks and local businesses. Internationally, we work together with various professionals in other jurisdictions the benefit of whose expertise is available to our clients.

We also have long-standing relationships with many banks and financial institutions, both in Gibraltar and abroad, and can assist our clients in opening bank accounts for their businesses.
