Cortijo Molino in Almayate

After a severe fire destroyed nearly the entire house we brought in our experts from town. Over a course of four months wall for wall, ceiling for ceiling, room for room was restored. And while dust, ash and dirt were around anyway we also had the former garage converted into an independent apartment with its own kitchen, bathroom, living/dining area and bedroom.
An harmonious interplay of wood and metal, of antique and new remain the signature style of this classy cortijo, and the local blacksmith has added some fascinating details to forged sliding doors, cabinets and table-top or bench supports.
While most furniture, decoration objects and art were killed by the flames, others now shine bright in a new appearance giving the term shabby chic a totally new and true meaning. Especially art work and large paintings have been - and still are - brought to new life by befriended artists.
