Set upon its own hill with amazing 360* views, Casa El Castaño was originally built as a 17th Century olive mill with many of its original features still standing today including its mill stones. It is situated between the town of Los Villares and the city of Martos which is only a 10 minute car journey; with its many tapas bars, restaurants, 3 supermarkets and boutique shopping.

Casa El Castañoo is accessed off the main JA3300 road leading to a concrete driveway through the olive grove up to the house, with no dirt tracks to negotiate.

The major Andalusian cities of Jaén (20 mins), Granada (60 mins), Cordoba - European City of Culture 2016 (60 mins) and Malaga (90 mins) are all within easy driving distance. Airport transfers can be arranged.

The location of the property benefits from stunning scenery over the mountains and rolling olive groves that has made Martos the centre of olive oil production in the whole of Spain. Every room has a unique and breathtaking view that changes season by season.

The Casa Rural has 4 rooms, including a master suite, all ensuite with large showers and drinking water that comes directly filtered from one of our two wells. In the summer the rooms are cooled by air conditioning or fans and in the winter they are heated by energy efficient radiators and 2 roaring fires. All our rooms have wooden furniture handcrafted locally by one of the many furniture makers that the area is famous for. Soft comfy pillows compliment the fluffy duvets and cotton sheets that make for a perfect nights sleep.

In the summer, breakfast is served on the terrace with fresh fruit from the garden when available and other locally sourced sustainable goods, we also offer a healthy protein breakfast for those who prefer. On an evening there is an option of an evening meal that is served by our magnificent Andalusian water feature, where you can dine on a 3 course Menu Del Dia meal at a fixed price; here you can take in the ambiance of a summers night under clear sky's. In the winter breakfast is served either in your room or in our reception area.

On our first floor we have a guest lounge/library area with a TV which is connected to a Playstation 3 and Blueray player together with lots of DVDs.

Free high speed wifi throughout the property is available to compliment your stay.

The 9 by 4 meters swimming pool, finished in Andalusian Stone from the local quarry gives ample area to lay, soak up the sun or take a dip to cool off; perhaps even read a book under the pergola or the shade of the chestnut tree which gives the property it's identity Castaño.
