Casa Cielo Retreat

Casa Cielo Retreat is located in Biniaraix which has a population of under 200. Set at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, it has an authentic traditional old bar which sits opposite it's ancient village church.

The house, like the village was built by the moors over 400 years ago and as a World Heritage area is packed with history.

The next village a short walk up the mountain, is pretty Fornalutx with its restaurants and bars surrounding the square.

Casa Cielo is also only a short distance from the beautiful old bustling town of Soller and only 10 minutes drive to the lively Port de Soller with the beach at one end of the crescent bay and the old fishing port and ferry terminal at the other end. You can take day trips around the coast and also to Palma, where you can partake in a meal with a bottle of local wine overlooking the beach and the blue Mediterranean sea... at one of the many restaurants or cafes and dream for a while in the sun!

A short drive up the mountain is the village of Deia which has long been famous for Artists and Poets alike. Indeed the Poet Laureate Robert Graves is buried in the small church on the hill top in Deia. You can also visit the house museum of Robert Graves in the town.

Just a further short drive along the coast is the majestic old town of Valldemossa where you can visit the Costa Nord cultural centre with its open air theatre, which is owned by the actor Michael Douglas.

A short walk through the old Town takes you to the ancient monastery where the composer Frederic Chopin lived with his partner George Sands and where the book Winter in Mallorca was conceived!

Stop off on the way back down the mountain towards Soller at the Hotel/Restaurant Cas Xorc renowned for its very high quality Mediterranean food. Sit a while on the terrace and take in the breathtaking views of this mountain retreat and relax. The actress Claudia Schiffer has held many birthdays here. Many famous and well known people either live or have houses in the area.

The Soller valley is famous for its Orange and Lemon groves and also its famous Olives which are still exported far and wide.
