Carr's Holiday Rentals

The apartment sleeps 4 - 6 people. The sofa pulls out to a large single bed, there's a king sized bed in the master bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom. It also has 2 bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen with all appliances including a dishwasher. There is a large balcony with direct golf course and sea views (as shown in photos).
I would recommend a car as the apartment is at the top of a hill over looking the golf course. Plus with a car you will have more freedom to travel easily to theme parks, water parks, beaches etc.
The apartment is 20 - 25 Minutes from the airport in the dirrection of Marbella.
If you google the local town 'La Cala de Mijas' you will see that it hosts a range of shops, local supermarkets, daily markets, beautiful beaches, a great night life for adults and children, and it is also:
*15min from Benalmadena - Tivoli Theme Park, Aqua Water Park, The biggest butterfly park, a crocodile park, Paloma Park - Nature Reserve, Local Markets, beautiful beaches, bars and resturants.
*10mins from Fuengirola - Fuengirola Zoo, Aqua Water Park, endless resturants and bars on the sea front with children's attractions, local markets, Miramar shopping Centre, Fuengirola Castle with a lake full of fun activities for both adults and children.
*10mins from Marbella - shopping centres, amazing beaches, Puerto Banus port, and children's attractions.
The apartment is very central yet out the way to have your down time. There are 5 swimming pools and a pool bar in the urbanisation, Calanova Sea Golf.

The Andalucia region

The Costa del Sol offers everything you could wish for from a holiday. It has 300 days of sunshine, over 60 magnificent golf courses, water parks, designer & high street shopping, boat trips & water sports, fishing, Zoo & safari parks, beautiful beaches etc. You can even go Skiing in Sierra Nevada if you tire of the sun. You can visit Malaga city which offers historical buildings, art museums e.g. the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, cathedrals, bull rings and even a bull fight! Ronda & Nerja are also two villages close by if you fancy taking a day trip. There are weekly markets in most areas ask for details.
Mijas Costa

The long blue flag beaches are well cared for, clean and have soft golden sand. Whilst La Cala has maintained a level of the real Spain it has also taken on, in a small way, something of an international flavour. La Cala has a number of excellent restaurants ranging from tapas bars, chirungitas to haute cuisine and there are also many bars and shops to choose from. There is a weekly market every Wednesday until 2pm.

There are an abundance of good quality sports and recreation facilities both in and around La Cala de Mijas. The tennis club "Club del Sol" welcomes all new comers as does the Lawn bowls centre at Miraflores. There are gymnasiums, dive centres and virtually every outdoor activity within minutes of the village. For the keen golfer there are a multitude of courses in the area to name but a few, La Cala Golf, Mijas Golf, Santana Golf and El Chaparral all of which are within a fifteen minute drive.

Horse riding in the hills behind La Cala is a must if you enjoy this activity but if your interest in horses is strictly as a spectator, then the Hippodrome race track may well be for you. The "Hipodromo del Costa del Sol" is just on the outskirts of La Cala and makes for a great family night out during the summer months.

La Cala as a holiday base is perfect throughout the whole year. The climate is such that you will be able to enjoy the seamless indoor / outdoor lifestyle which has made the Costs del Sol so popular for so many years. Within easy striking distance of La Cala de Mijas are all of the internationally famous names such as Puerto Banus, Marbella and Fuengirola.

For the kids there is lots to do, La Cala is not far from Tivoli World, the Fuengirola Zoo, Sea Life and then of course the wonderful beaches and Water parks - and for the "big kids" Marbella Casino, The Hipodromo and so much more.
