Every author out there is trying to become successful. The secret to becoming so is not to spend your time spamming Facebook and Twitter. No, the secret really isn't a secret at all. To shine like diamonds in a room full of glass you have to offer a professional product that stands out. This means a book properly edited, professionally formatted, and well-presented (cover and media art). Sure, you can forego an editor, format the thing yourself in a generic way, and purchase some pre-made cover art, but then what would make you any different from thousands of amateur authors out there?

The fact is if you want readers to purchase your books in today's ultra-competitive market, you must be willing to invest in them yourself. I understand, however, not everyone has a fortune to spend and strive to keep your costs to a minimum in exchange for a professional product. Being an author, I can empathize with your plight. As for my qualifications, I'm a professional artist and software engineer who's been working in such capacity since 2002 for the likes of AT&T, the states of Arizona, Colorado, and Wyoming, the University of Washington, Northrup Grumman, and the Salt River Project.
