YANKO es una marca de zapatos procedente de la Isla de Mallorca creada en 1961 por grandes maestros artesanos especializados en la fabricación de calzado, que la llevaron a convertirse en una de las mayores empresas zapateras de Europa durante los Años 80. Tanto es así, que en su época de mayor esplendor, YANKO llegó a fabricar más de un millón de pares de zapatos al año.

Antonio Llobera, un reconocido empresario del sector del calzado, apoyado por un potente equipo de socios, adquirió el negocio en 2007 tras una mala gestión financiera de los antiguos propietarios. Desde el año 2007, el tándem formado por Antonio Llobera y los maestros artesanos originarios de la Isla de Mallorca, han conseguido dotar a la firma de un diseño propio y de su actual carácter internacional. En la actualidad, YANKO, además de estar presente en una cuidada selección de los mejores puntos de venta, está en plena expansión internacional, y se está consolidando como marca de referencia en los mercados europeos, norteamericanos y asiáticos.

YANKO lleva más de medio siglo fabricando zapatos mediante un proceso artesanal tradicional basado en la técnica del GoodYear. Todas las fases de producción del calzado que elabora la marca pasan por estrictos y minuciosos controles de calidad. Las raíces de YANKO datan del año 1890, cuando en la pequeña población de Inca, en la isla de Mallorca, algunos maestros artesanos expertos en el tratamiento del cuero empezaron a aplicar sus conocimientos en la fabricación de calzado masculino de estilo inglés, por eso puede detentar con orgullo el marchamo de “Shoemakers”.
