More about The Elephant Charity Project 2016

We are an independent fundraising and donation non-profit organization based in Spain. By raising awareness of the serious threats to endangered species of African Elephants we are also helping to raise funds to prevent the murder of these majestic animals and rehabilitate orphaned baby elephants.

Facts:

One elephant is killed every 15 minutes for its' ivory.

100'000 elephants have been killed in the last three years and the number is increasing every. single. day.

There are 300'000 African Elephants left and the poaching rate is 8% per year.

The elephants deaths outpace elephants natural population replacement rates.

Its a road to disaster.

----------------------------
What can we do?

Despite a ban on the international trade in ivory, elephants are still poached in an alarming rate as the black markets are flourishing - elephant ivory is worth more than cocaine and is a sick symbol of wealth.
A special unit of Game Rangers are protecting our dear giants from criminal poachers and they risk their lives for that. Almost every day one of them dies in action. It is a very dangerous, but necessary job and we need to support them by providing expensive military equipment and training so they are able to protect themselves and the elephants.

An orphaned baby elephant can not survive on its own. Without a nutrient rich milk every 3 hours and the essential natal care, the baby elephants face a sure death.
When they are rescued they undergo intensive care with highly trained keepers who spend time with them, provide medical care, take them for daily walks and help with their emotional damage - similar to human Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which causes them trouble to reintegrate into a new herd.
The funds are necessary to build orphanages and hospitals and provide mandatory training to locals, to support our baby giants.

-----------------------

The situation is critical. We need to take action NOW.

People need to be aware we are about to lose our largest land mammals in the world.

SPREAD THE WORD AND DONATE.
