Casa Imagine Insect Reserve & Vacation retreat Alora ,Malaga. Spain

Casa Imagine was established in 2007, with the main aim of providing a safe haven for natural insects and small animals. We are blessed with the presence of butterflies, praying mantis, stick insects, various wasp and bee species including the hummingbird bee, dung beetles, Common Lizards, snakes and many bird species, to name just a few. (Come and see these beautiful for your self !!)

We would like to thank all the volunteers from around the world, Helpx and others who have freely donated their time and expertise. For example, setting up irrigation, water deposits, planting, general research and logging of many species of insects which are inhabiting the local mountains and hills. of Alora.


Casa Imagine Nature Reserve has now created a vacation retreat called Tranquila Vacation. A comfortable caravan on a small secluded site has now been put aside, especially to accommodate people from all corners of mother earth. This is ideal for those who wish to escape the busy city life and relax and get back to nature for even a brief moment in time. Once here, you do not need to worry about food, as meat eaters, veggie, vegan or gluten free persons can be self catering or catered for.Just live a stress free life style. :) Activities can include chilling out, sunbathing and Naturism; a plethora of walks and mountain hikes; arts, crafts and photography; bird watching and reading, etc. For 4x4 day excursions, horse riding, rock climbing, train site seeing tours, additional costs will need to be met by the relaxee. At present we have 12,000 litres of water which is collected from the roof tops of the study and warden´s casa and hills. This water is essential for the maintenance of all living things that naturally find their home in the reserve. However, due to the micro-climate of the Alora hills, the water is insufficient to keep flora and insect fauna breeding. Therefore, the next major project is to, as a minimum, double our water deposit capacity and we would be grateful for peoples generosity.
